Summary: Tropical Depression Fourteen has formed in the western Caribbean Sea. Currently, the greatest impact is the potential for heavy rainfall. Other impacts, such as wind gusts, storm surge, and coastal flooding, are still very uncertain and will depend on the eventual track and intensity of the system. Further east, Tropical Depression Thirteen is moving towards the Caribbean Islands and the track is currently forecasted to reach the eastern most Gulf of Mexico early next week. It’s currently too soon to know of any specific impacts for southeast Louisiana from TD Thirteen. Regardless of further development, there will be potential for heavy rainfall, especially late this weekend into early next week

Tropical Depression 13

Tropical Depression Thirteen is currently located east of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The track is forecast to move along or north of the Caribbean Islands and then move into the eastern most part of the Gulf of Mexico by early next week. Too soon to tell for any specific impacts from Tropical Depression Thirteen for south eastern Louisiana.



Tropical Depression 14

TD14 is forecast to become a Tropical Storm as it approaches Honduras and the Yucatan Peninsula this weekend, then move northwest into the Gulf of Mexico early next week. There is some potential for strengthening while it is in the Gulf of Mexico, but it is still too early to know exactly how strong it will become. Heavy rainfall is the main threat early next week. There is also a small potential of tropical storm force wind gusts along the Louisiana coast.



Tropical Disturbance: #1

A tropical wave over western Africa is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms near the Africa coast. This wave is expected to move over the far eastern tropical Atlantic on Friday, and some slow development is possible through the weekend while it moves west-northwestward at 15 to 20 mph across the eastern tropical Atlantic. Formation chances through the next 5 days is medium at a 40 percent chance of tropical development.

It will be partly cloudy, with a low around 75 and calm winds and the chance for precipitation is 60% with new precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch expected, except higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms. Friday: There is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 90 and calm winds. Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 75 with calm winds. Saturday: There is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. It will be mostly sunny, with a high near 91 and a calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the afternoon. Saturday Night: There is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1am. It will be partly cloudy, with a low around 76 with a southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Sunday: There is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. It will be partly sunny, with a high near 90 and a light east wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Sunday Night: There is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. It will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 77and an east wind around 5 mph. Monday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 1pm, then showers and thunderstorms are likely after 1pm. It will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 88 and an east wind 5 to 10 mph. Monday Night: There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms. It will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 78 and an east wind around 5 mph. Tuesday: There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms.
