Coronavirus Updates

  • Federal Main Street Lending Program Opens to NonprofitsThe Federal Reserve has announced its Main Street Lending Program is now accepting applications from nonprofit organizations. The federal Lending Program is designed to help credit flow to both for-profit and nonprofit organizations that were in sound financial condition before the pandemic. You can read more here. Please note: this Federal Reserve loan program is different from the Louisiana Main Street Recovery Program which offers grants to small businesses.

  • Free Internet Introductory Offer – Cox Communications is offering qualified new customers two months of free internet service through its Connect2Compete program, if you apply before September 30, 2020. To be eligible, new customers must have a K-12 student and participate in one of the listed government assistance programs. The program is offered without an annual contract and free installation is provided. If you apply after September 30th, the regular Connect2Compete service rates will apply.   • High School Football Start Date Announced – LHSAA football is scheduled to begin October 8-10. A decision was announced following Friday’s meeting of the House Education Committee. You can watch the hearing here and can read more here.
